THE PRESEPE VIVENTE TRADITION SEEN IN A BRAND NEW LIGHT

Working on the natural ambience of the Medieval Borgo (appropriately emphasized by an accurate warm colours lighting...), the biennal representation of the "Presepe Vivente di Baia e Latina", wish not simply to recover lost or abandoned sides of the town, but also to renew traditions and artisan cultures that are about to get lost.

More, during the representation, the thousands visitors that in each Edition habitually comes by, doesn't need simply to look or walk, but they must 'interact' inside the scenes and with the various characters, becoming a leading fundamental part of the show. For example, inside some "shops", taverns, private homes, baker's shops and so on, the visitors has not only the chance to examinate closely the work made from true artisans or to experience 'live' the ancient poor (but genuine) domestic life, but also to taste some of the local typical products and food (some of the food are also taken' from old recipes transmitted in the centuries...) cooked under their own marveled eyes.

As it's easy to understand, a kind of representation like this, technically located right in the middle between the classical art of the Neapolitan Presepe and the accuracy of a historical characterisation about the local costumes and habits, generate in the visitors a deep interest but as well an incredible number of weird imitation tries. Anyway, we're very proud (..and a little pleased, too..), to remark that the "Presepe Vivente di Baia e Latina" represents an unsurpassed reference spectacle absolutely unique in the local area but on the entire national panorama too...
